A Message for Bruce
It was a dream come true when I got approved for the Morrison Visa. And here I am some 35 years later, with 2 kids and 3 grandchildren. One thing we were taught growing up in Ireland was work hard and life will be what you make it. I spent 30 years in NY before moving to Florida and then to South Carolina. So thank you, Bruce, I wish other young people can have the same opportunity and experience I had with so many others. You certainly made my dream come true.

A Message for Bruce
Thank you Bruce for the huge opportunity that the Morrison Visa Program offered me and my partner. We both travelled and worked as postdoctoral research scientists at Baylor College and University of Texas, Medical Center, Houston. The experience of travelling and working in the US was invaluable to our academic training and future work in Irish Universities on our return in the late 1990’s. We maintained many personal and professional connections with the great people we met in Houston.

A Message for Bruce
Many thanks for the the visa and what it gave me. I used it to live and work in the US for a few years in the 90's when I was a newly graduated engineer trying to figure out where I went next. It was a truly transformative experience to me and has left me with a gratitude for what the US gave me that I will carry with me for the rest of my days.

I just wanted to thank you for the life-changing opportunity you gave in as I was a recipient of your Visa in 1993. I moved to San Francisco that year and enjoyed great success both professionally and privately. I recently returned to live in Europe with my irish wife who had also received the same visa in 1994.

A Message for Bruce
This visa literally changed my life. I started applying when it first came out, I remember sending letter after letter, that was the process at the time, and finally getting the visa in 1994. I clearly remember the embassy interview, the planning, leaving home and starting out at the time in Boston. I've been in the US over thirty years now, with a family of my own, and remain truly grateful for the opportunity I had to embark on a new life, and remain connected too to my home.

A Message for Bruce
I write this with heartfelt thanks to Bruce Morrison. I was one of the lucky Irish to win a Morrison Visa in 1992. Fresh out of college, I packed my bags for New York to begin my working life. While I didn’t stay permanently, I made lifelong friends and deep connections with people in the US who remain a big part of my life today. The visa gave me opportunities that shaped my life in ways I cannot put into words, and I will always be deeply grateful to Bruce for making it possible.

I want to thank Mr. Bruce Morrison for this wonderful opportunity. I received a Visa that my brother applied for in 1994 It opened the world of opportunity for me when I came to the United States. There was a lot of people illegal here from Ireland and I was very fortunate that I was not one of them. Thanks to this wonderful man! I will be forever. Grateful I am an American citizen married with two children and and have lived here permanently since 1997 I am very proud to be an American citizen.

A Message for Bruce
Bruce, I often wondered who was the person behind the Morrison Visa program and why they wanted to do it. What I was told many years ago was that the Irish people were “underrepresented in the United States”, and that was the main reason behind the visa program. I always found that reason very hard to believe because we are everywhere in America. Whatever the reason, I am so very grateful to you for granting me a visa to come and live and work and create my own family and wonderful life here.

Receiving the Morrison Visa was a profoundly life-changing opportunity for me and my (now) wife. Arriving in the bitter cold of New York City in January 1994 marked the beginning of an incredible journey, and we’ve never looked back since. Thank you!
